Named in honor of the Kabini river, this lodge allures visitors with the prospect of encountering elephants, gaurs, deer, proudly showcasing the captivating tiger and the vigilant leopard. Positioned at the southern edges of the Nagarhole National Park, this once hunting retreat of the former Maharaja of Mysore earned recognition as one of the Top 5 Wildlife Resorts globally according to the British Tatler’s Travel Guide. Situated within a vast colonial property amidst the core of the elephant-inhabited region, the Kabini River Lodge resonates with the untamed sounds of nature.
he Kabini River Lodge is an excellent destination year-round. However, in the scorching months of March, April, and May, as the pools and springs within the forest dry up, the animals tend to gather along the banks of the River Kabini. This period offers an opportunity to witness the most significant assembly of Asiatic Elephants in their natural habitat. During the monsoon season (July, August, and September), the trees flourish and become dense, but this may result in fewer animal sightings. The remaining months generally present a reasonable probability of encountering various animals and birds.
